Consulting Solutions Team Lead

Overall purpose of the job:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the CSE Team
  • Coordinate and delegate the responsibilities of the CSE Team
  • Provide regular reports on progress for the different projects being worked on by the team
  • Be able to analyse on-going performance and challenges and define improvement plans
  • Liaise with other operations team to resolve any challenges or issues faced by the team
  • Be a point of escalation for any operational issues
  • Implementation of customer projects/solutions
  • Establishing a very close working relationship with customers in order to achieve the objectives of the solution and to ensure the successful delivery of the project objectives/goals
  • Advise customers on any new technology and its integration with the solution
  • Liaising with both external and internal customers, must be capable of communicating with different teams from procurement, provisioning, project management, pre-sales, support and others to ensure that not only solution requirements are fulfilled, but that existing business processes are reviewed regularly and improved.

Key responsibilities for this job:

  • Coordination of daily activities for the CSE team
  • Escalation point for operational issues
  • Reporting of defined metrics and KPI’s
  • On-going review of existing processes and definition of improvement plans.
  • Close working with the Pre-sales department to review and agree on the appropriate solution design and ensure Exponential-e can deliver the technical requirements on the current or planned network
  • Close working with the provisioning department to ensure solutions are simple to implemented and the relevant skills are deployed across the team
  • Organize training for the CSE team
  • Attend customer facing meetings in a technical capacity
  • Technical Project Management for customer solutions including:-
  • Visio Designs
  • Working to help the customer meet their project timescales
  • Working with the customer to ensure a smooth migration
  • Communicating precise and accurate information to customers and partners
  • Aid in the development of peers through knowledge transfer
  • Research and Testing of new products

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage customer expectations effectively
  • Advanced firewall knowledge and experience
  • Advanced routing knowledge and experience
  • Advanced switching knowledge and experience
  • Good understanding of MPLS networks and how VPLS operates
  • A good knowledge of all layers of the OSI model
  • Experience in a multi-vendor environment: ADVA, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel, Fortinet, etc.
  • Understanding of access technologies (E1, fibre, xDSL)
  • Good customer facing skills
  • An ability to quickly learn new skills and to be able to provide technical guidance and training
  • A desire to act as mentor and developer for the team to ensure that each member of the team reaches their maximum capability
